Our Little Author

Meet Amarissa Kasaanchi, a Class II student who brims with energy and an insatiable curiosity. Amarissa's love for exploring new things is truly infectious. Her eyes light up with excitement at the mere prospect of discovering something new, and she approaches every encounter with an open mind and a heart full of wonder. Whether it's a fascinating fact, a captivating story, or an intriguing puzzle, Amarissa embraces it all with an unwavering eagerness.

What sets Amarissa apart is her exceptional affinity for reading and writing. Her love for words is palpable as she delves into books with an unmatched fervor, getting lost in the worlds they unfold. But her creativity doesn't stop at reading; it extends to her own written expressions as well. It's no surprise that her passion for reading and writing has led her down the remarkable path of becoming a published author. At such a tender age, she has already penned her own book—a remarkable accomplishment that showcases her dedication and innate talent.

In a world where technology often competes for attention, Amarissa is a refreshing reminder of the magic that lies within the pages of a book and the boundless creativity that blooms when a young mind is given the opportunity to flourish. With her infectious enthusiasm, unwavering love for learning, and an ever-present smile, Amarissa continues to inspire those around her to embrace every moment with the same wonder and excitement that she does. The journey of this young, budding author is just beginning, and the world can't wait to see where her boundless passion takes her next.

Here are the links to her stories -

Accompanied by her parents, Dr. Fremingston Marak and Dr. Mima Maychet, Amarrisa graciously presented us with copies of her two creations, "The Garruda Park" and "Favourite Time of the Year." This gesture reflects not only Amarissa's talent and creativity but also the support and encouragement she receives from her parents. Her parents have been pillars of strength in her journey, consistently boosting her confidence and helping her explore her passion for words.

Amarissa's visit and generous book donation serve as an inspiring example of what can be achieved with the right support and encouragement from parents. We are grateful for the opportunity to witness her budding literary talent and look forward to seeing her continue to flourish in the world of writing.

In our daily assembly today, we had the pleasure of introducing her books to the Rosebuddies. As a generous gesture, she presented a copy of her books to our school library. We are excited to share the news that Amarissa’s books are set to be integrated into the Primrose Junior Library this week. This addition will undoubtedly inspire our little rosebuddies. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Amarissa and her parents for the contribution and look forward to the reading journey her books will take our students on.

Cheers!

The Words I read, The Worlds I go…

About the Poet
Meet our enigmatic wordsmith, Pradhanya Prabhu from Grade V with dreams that dance like constellations in her twinkling eyes. While she envisions a stethoscope around her neck in a few years from now, this aspiring cardiologist's heart finds happiness amidst inked pages and literary realms. In Pradhanya’s own words, from the tender moments of childhood, she was enchanted by the symphony of words and the allure of stories/poems.
About the Poem
In her captivating quatrains, the world comes alive in kaleidoscopic hues. She eloquently expresses how, through the mesmerizing words she reads, she embarks on journeys to uncharted territories. She tells us how books and reading can take you to the unknown territories of one’s mind.

The Words I read, the Worlds I go

I sit in the shade and read my book,
I read each page, every corner and nook.
With the pages near my nose,
Sitting in the garden that smells like a rose.

Now, I'm off to go to the sea,
Tell my mom, I’ll be back for tea.
Now, I am sailing in my ship,
While seeing a seal doing a double backflip.

Now, I am on a trip,
A place where only few can be and see.
So travel, steady and slow.
Sit back; imagine the show.

Now, I see snow falling to and fro,
‘Coz, I am in Tokyo.
In the streets of Chennai,
I drink my favourite Chai.

Now, in the land of Thai,
I feel my spirits rise high,
As I eat a cherry in Pondicherry,
I go to a different-looking ferry.

Now, it is dark and gloomy,
I feel the night being so scary.
I tread on, my mind filled with dread,
I don't want to be someone’s bread.

How I wish the pages would,
Keep going on for infinity and beyond.
As I see the words THE END,
I leave my IMAGINARY LAND.
